The Africa GO Network is a network that aims to create an ecosystem for strengthening open government partnerships among African countries and to explore ways in which open government principles can be harnessed to address the challenges facing the African continent.

The Open Government Africa Network is based on the principle of the sovereign equality of all its adhering countries.
Membership is open to all Member States of the United Nations whose governments exhibit a demonstrated commitment to open government core values and have made significant improvements across the key areas.
The admission of any such country to membership in the Open Government Africa Network will be effected by a decision of the Assembly.
The Assembly shall consist of the countries/members of the Open Government Africa Network and may discuss any questions or any matters related to the Open Government process in Africa.
Each member of the Assembly shall have one vote.
The Assembly shall receive and consider recommendations and reports from other partners and organizations.
The Assembly schedules regular sessions each 3 months.
In addition to its regular sessions, the Assembly may meet in special sessions.
The Assembly is responsible for the adoption of the action plan, its elaboration and its evaluation, with the support of the Secretariat.
Each member country is represented by a Point of Contact person (and its deputy) who has the prerogatives to represent the member country. (For OGP members, there will be one Point of contact for OGP and for this network. For non-OGP members, the government shall nominate the appropriate person to represent the country.)
The Assembly appoints the chairman and the deputy chairman for a period of one year.
The Chairmanship rotates between the member states of the Open Government Africa network. The chair will open and direct discussion during meetings of the Assembly, set the agenda for each meeting and oversee the elaboration of the action plan, with the support of the Secretariat.
As the host country, the Kingdom of Morocco will be appointing the Secretariat.
The Secretariat will carry out the substantive and administrative work of the Open Government Africa Network, and shall present proposals and recommendations to the assembly.
In the performance of their duties the Secretariat shall not seek or receive instructions from any government or from any other authority external to the Organization.
